Kabelo Pooe

Karabelo Pooe is the General Manager of the National Association of Social Housing Organisations (NASHO), leading an association that oversees more than 70% of South Africa's social housing units. Under his leadership, NASHO continues to strengthen the sector through research, advocacy, and capacity development programs, ensuring the long-term sustainability of affordable rental housing.


Karabelo holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and postgraduate degrees in Property Valuation & Management and Future Studies. He previously served as the Executive for New Developments and Investments at a Johannesburg-based Social Housing Institution.


He is deeply committed to voluntarism, advocacy, and inner-city regeneration.

He has served as a board member of the Johannesburg Property Owners & Managers Association (JPOMA) and currently sits on the board of Urban Space Management (USM), a Johannesburg-based nonprofit specialising in the management of urban environments.
